ZIMBABWE’S ECONOMY IS RECOVERING” :MAHOFA

The Minister of State Masvingo Provincial Affairs, Shuvai Mahofa said Zimbabwe’s economy has improved through the implementation of the Zimbabwe Agenda for Sustainable Socio-economic Transformation (ZIMASSET) policy which was introduced by government in 2013.

Speaking to thousands who gathered at Mucheke stadium in celebration of the 35th independence anniversary, Mahofa said the government is pursuing efforts to improve people’s life through the implementation of ZIMASSET to enable investment climate and a growing economic empowerment so as to achieve social equity and transformation.

Mahofa added that already there is a number of growing business people from the region, continent and across the globe who are willing to partner with Zimbabwe in seeing the success of ZIMASSET, which have resulted to be a positive signal which the government should capitalise on.


‘’There are a number of growing business people from the region, continent and across the globe who are willing to partner with us in seeing the success of ZIMASSET.’’ She said

Mahofa also spoke on the economy, saying the country have registered a growth rate of 3,1% in 2014 being driven by better performance in mining, agriculture and construction
 “The implementation process experienced increase in expenditure from our mines in funding government policies.” Said Mahofa

She assured Masvingo province that everyone will survive despite the poor rains experienced this year

 Minister Shuvai Mahofa expressed hope for better rains in the next season  saying the government has prepared the  needed equipment  for the coming agriculture season , to boost production.’

‘’These implements will be given to farmers in order to raise our production’ Mahofa has said.
